Good news for England, opening batsman Andrew Strauss is all set for a comeback and is ready to replace Ed Joyce in the England team for their crucial match against Australia. It is worth mentioning in this regard that Strauss has not played any part in England World Cup campaign yet because of poor form in Ashes and CB series against Australia.
Though, Joyce was the find of the summer for England down under, he scored lots of runs against Australia and New Zealand but is struggling at the moment and looks totally out of form. Strauss is quite an experienced player and has done remarkably well for England forming a solid partnership with Marcus Trescothick at the top of the order.
England captain Michel Vaughan is pretty confident that lack of time in the field would not deter Strauss and he will play prominent role against Australia in the top order. Whatever be the case, it’s not going to be easy for Strauss against the likes of Bracken, Tait and Mcgrath in a high profile crunch match for England.
